The emotional spectrum essentially encompasses a vast expanse reflecting countless feelings experienced by human beings- ranging from positive sensations such as joy love or surprise--to negative states often triggered by fear, anger or sadness, and everything in between.
Psychologist Paul Ekman identified six basic emotions: happiness, sadness, fear, anger, disgust, and surprise- though another theory claims that fundamentally 27 distinct emotions exist.
